Lead Electrician
Job Description:
We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Electrician with a minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience. As a Lead Electrician, you will be responsible for overseeing various electrical projects across commercial, residential, solar, agricultural, and other sectors.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Journeyman certification preferred
Willingness to consider apprentices or individuals with 2-4 years of high-level experience
Strong leadership skills to lead crews and projects effectively
Proficient in reading blueprints
Self-starter with proactive problem-solving abilities
Team player capable of following leadership directions
Punctual and reliable with strong communication skills
Customer-oriented with professionalism and courtesy
Basic organizational and computer skills
Ability to lift 50lbs+
Availability to work Monday to Friday from 7am to 3:30pm, with occasional weekends and overtime
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Positive attitude is a non-negotiable requirement

Position Overview
As a Journeyman Electrician at Coffing Electric, you’ll perform electrical installations, service, and troubleshooting across residential and light commercial projects. You’ll work with a high degree of autonomy while maintaining strict adherence to code, safety, and quality standards.
This role includes tiered progression opportunities based on skill level, performance, and leadership capability, with clear paths into Lead Electrician and specialized roles.
Job requirements:
Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in residential and commercial settings
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical plans
Perform service upgrades, panel replacements, lighting installations, and circuit work
Troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently and safely
Ensure all work meets NEC, local code, and company standards
Maintain clean, organized, and professional jobsites
Communicate clearly with project managers, team members, and customers
Support and mentor apprentices when needed
Follow all safety protocols and jobsite procedures
Qualifications:
Active Journeyman Electrician license (or ability to obtain)
Strong knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
Proven experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work
Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Professional attitude, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship
